Atlas struggled for air through narrow airways & his stomach paid the price.
A pinched nose & excess tissue in his throat made him work harder for every breath. That extra suction pulls on parts of the stomach toward the chest, promotes acid reflux & inflames the esophagus. Delayed stomach emptying can add to the discomfort.
Watch for Atlas’s red flags: noisy breathing, repositioning to breathe, regurgitation, burping, repeated swallowing & vomiting bile. These deserve attention—not a “normal for a Frenchie” label.
Sometimes the search for a stomach problem needs to include the airway. For many French Bulldogs, better breathing can also mean a happier stomach.
Share Atlas’s story. Because every dog deserves to breathe & thrive & have a healthy stomach.
