Roxy couldn’t play because of her airway problem known as Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome. The first part of her story shows her airway obstruction struggle & her elongated soft palate. An elongated soft palate is basically a long, floppy flap at the back of your dog’s throat. Every time they breathe in, that flap gets sucked toward the windpipe, making it harder for air to get through. It creates snoring, snorting, gagging, & that ‘struggling to breathe’ look you see. With laser surgery, we carefully trim that extra flap so air can finally move freely—letting your dog breathe, play, & live comfortably again.
