Where the story started
When Dr. Man was a kid, family friends had two pugs that grunted and snored all the time. Everyone laughed and thought it was adorable. No one realized those dogs were struggling to breathe, and back then there were no real treatment options to help them.
Why Dr. Man wrote it
Veterinary medicine has come a long way since then. Research now shows how much short-nosed breeds like Frenchies and pugs can struggle to breathe, and it isn’t humane to let them suffer. The bond between kids and pets starts early, so Dr. Man wrote this book to help children and families learn about the issue together.
