Let’s OPEN the AIRWAYS in this Flat Faced Frenchie !
It’s all about MAXIMIZING the AIRFLOW while MINIMIZING TRAUMA to the NOSE.
DOGS who STRUGGLE to BREATHE with a CLOSED NOSE are NOT LIVING the LIFE they deserve.
The NOSE is a VITAL TOOL for a dog’s survival, communication, & well-being.
An OPEN NOSE is incredibly important for several reasons:
1. COOLING/THERMOREGULATION:
A dog’s nose plays a critical role in regulating body temperature. Dogs sweat through their paw pads & noses, helping them to cool down.
2. SMELL:
Dogs have an extraordinary sense of smell, much more acute than humans. This helps them detect scents at much lower concentrations, which is crucial for hunting, tracking, and detecting drugs, explosives, or medical conditions.
3. COMMUNICATION:
Dogs use their noses to communicate with each other and understand their environment. They can pick up pheromones and other scent markers left by other animals.
4. NAVIGATION & IDENTIFICATION:
Dogs rely on their sense of smell to navigate their surroundings and identify familiar people, places, and objects.
5. HEALTH:
A dog’s nose can be an indicator of health. Changes in the moisture, color, or temperature of a dog’s nose can sometimes signal health issues.
